I saw this video posted on another forum I frequent. We do not have an established bear population in west and middle TN, thus I have little experience with them outside of my trips to the GSMNP. I figured I would ask some of you guys who live in bear country if you have ever had a nerve-racking encounter such as the one shown here?

Beary close

1. He waited a way longer than I would have to said "Git"!

2. If I said "Git" and the bear kept coming (which probably it wouldn't), I always carry back up when bow hunting for times such as that. Hopefully a warning shot would scare it off.

I am a strict follower of laws and game regulations, BUT, I will not hesitate to do what is necessary if I feeled threatened by any kind of wildlife.

I'm not sure I could have set there for that! It definitely wouldn't have smelled good around me,till I went and cleaned myself up!

He put up with that about 4 minutes longer than i would have. I kept thinking as that bear kept scent trailing him that the bear was thinking............Hmm delicious....leg of man...yummy.

I love watching bears... On tv. Dude is lucky the bear didn't find flesh when he swatted at him. No way I would have let him get that far up the tree.

I'd say he was curious the first climb up the tree maybe..... but the second time up and then swatting at the hunter..... if it would have been me, that bear would have gotten a tracheotomy.

I would have chalked it up as a Cool experience while hunting. I would have been more concerned with skeeters and horseflies.

I prolly would have popped him on the nose with an arrow though. Having him get in the stand with me, while I was strapped in, might cause a man to stain his drawers.
