Finally got a chance to shoot the recurve today ,things I have noticed this far . First I suck "lol" but beyond that if I shot 3 fingers under I get string noise and hit low , if I shot split fingers less noise but shot high , on average for both. I also see the arrow feathers whipping up and down on a lot of shots , not so much side to side. Also a update report on the feathers getting roughed up ,I started turning chocolate chip cookie feather in and it seems to have helped this far

There are 3 things I would try. 1st. Decide 3 under or split. 2nd and 3rd. Adjust your nock set or brace height or both to get the propoising under control.

Eddie . I thought about moving the nock up or down but was unsure which way did what, as far as my release I like the way 3 under feels but it seems I pluck the string more that way , split feels doesn't feel as comfortable but it shoots a lot quieter due I guess that I release better that way , not sure which to stick with

I would try moving the nock a 1/4" higher first. if it gets worse, go back to original spot and try 1/4" lower, then work from there.
I was taught to shoot 3 under and it's hard for me to shoot split. you can pluck the string with both methods. my index finger in the corner of my mouth is my anchor. if I shoot split I have to put my middle finger in my mouth to get the same results. then out of habit I forget and put the index back in my mouth so I just stick with 3 under.

they say split is quieter. with my bad ears, I can't say either way.
