When to start shooting the bow

Once set up and sighted in, pratice on making the first shot count. Take a shot then wait a little while and take another from a different range. Repeat process but don't shoot to much and get tired. Start close and work a little farther as you get better. And remember to pratice a little during the season too, keep your edge.Happy hunting!

To comment on Swami's post, I believed in starting at my greatest distance and working, one shot at a time as he suggest. The reason for starting at 35 or 40 yards is that deer don't cooperate and you only have one shot.

I kept an arrow just outside my back deck door. Most mornings, I would open the door, nock the arrow, pick a target, (I had seven 3-D targets in the yard), and shoot. That was it. Later in the day I would shoot 8-10 times and quit. Each week, I moved all the targets, changing distance and angle.
