Was running on the Greenway this morning, and I came across 2 does and 3 fawns walking right down the Greenway towards me. I thought they would move off the path as I got closer, but no. I didn't look them in the eyes and they let me run past them so close I could have honked one of the doe's noses. I just wish I was as skilled as the Seek One guys, and then I could have hunted one of these ultra-wary suburban zoo deer, and after killing it, I could drop to my knees and cry like a fool.

I once grabbed hold of a button buck that my bird dog had "pointed".
It was only about 3 feet from my dog, bedded, motionless.
I grabbed it by the neck, and was immediately bombarded by hooves.
Would have seriously hurt me if hadn't been wearing a heavy army duck coat & pants.
Let it go within 10 seconds!

Going in my long driveway one year I found a fawn tangled in a scrap piece of woven wire that was from the end of a roll.... neighbor had a crew fencing pasture several days before and this little deer got wrapped up in the scrap wire.... apparently it hadn't been tangled long because mama doe was standing in the field stomping and blowing as I drove by and I saw the tall grass moving in the ditch...so I stopped and got out and discovered this little deer laying there tangled and when I grabbed that wire my hand or fingers got tangled in the wire and that little deer went ballistic!! We were both going in circles trying to get away from each other! That thing whooped me up one side of the driveway and down the other....I finally got on top and held it down ...the thing was bawling and the mama was blowing flames mad.... finally got my fingers and it's little legs untangled and let that little joker go....it shot off driveway to it's mama and they both took off for the timber....but the situation got sideways there for a minute....but thankfully it all worked out.

Had a biologist friend out working by himself in the field when he came upon an adult doe with her back feet caught in a hogwire fence. The doe was scared out of her mind and thrashing around. He had a pair of pliers with him and believed he could cut the wire with it. So to calm the doe he threw his jacket over her head. That worked, and he was able to cut enough wires to free her. When he got her free and pulled the jacket off her, she thanked him by rearing up and flail-kicking him in the ribs with her front hooves before running off. Broke two of his ribs.

At my old house my neighbor had a fence all the way around his property. Came home one day and as I went up my driveway and past his back line there was a fawn caught. She had tried to jump and got her back feet tangled. I couldn't get her out by myself so I called him. He came out with wire cutters and cut it while I held her. She never freaked out much but when I let her down she got out of there dragging that leg. For a few years after we'd see a doe with a bad back leg and always assumed that was her.

I just sold a rental house by Ensworth that the Greenway goes behind it. When I used to live there my neighbor would text me when I was out hunting somewhere that there was a big buck in my backyard on multiple occasions. 🤷‍♂️ Oh well. I hunted urban deer one season, killed a huge buck and decided it just wasn't for me. I was hunting about 15 acres. If that's all I had I wouldn't have problem with it but there is no real strategy to it, you have to put in time when the deer are not just moving at night and that's your main strategy.

Now you can't tell me for one second that the seek one guy's aren't trespassing to retrieve the majority of the deer they shoot. There is no way with some of the complete yugo shots I've seen them take.

Oh my gah, guys! It is hunting and we need to stick together and quit bashing other hunters! As long as they are legally hunting, who cares!! Sure, we will likely lose hunting access across hundreds of suburban areas nationwide, but GUYS, Seek One never breaks the law or trespasses! They are great examples of what WE hunters should STRIVE to be. If you don't shed tears when you harvest an animal, well you are a cold-hearted b****. They are literally SAVING LIVES by harvesting these overpopulated urban deer and this how you repay them? Now go Like, Subscribe, and help fund their urban bowhunting adventures.
