Which Backstop?

In reading up on backstops, it seems as though most will wear out over time - some sooner than others.

Given the price of these things, which backstop do you recommend for the money? (Which will last the longest but is still affordable)?
 
gotcha....my favorite is the blob. Up front it costs a little more but you will get several years out of shooting one�even a heavy shooter like me�and you can shoot both types of heads into as well. I will wear a bag, block style and certainly a 3D foam target out in under a year with ease.

They are located just south of you below Dalton, so it should be even cheaper. Check them out....you won't be disappointed.

The Blob is nice but its not very mobile...very good for a backyard set up.

I have a Rinehart Rhinoblock and its hard to beat. The center core is replaceable. Once the core wears out just replace it with a new one. It's also not very heavy and has a carrying handle so you can take it to deer camp. Here is a pic of mine:

 
the are pricey, but only about 10-15% more than the rhinehart and double the price of a quality bag target and it will last years longer than either. It is not very mobile though as UTG pointed out.....around 100lbs they weigh. You should be able to get it cheaper than the website if you go down there�my brother-in-law did and he is from Hixson. My BIL has one that is shot a lot with broadheads and it is several years old and mine is 1 1/2 years old and hardly any wear. He had an older one that was picked up directly from one of the carpet mills years ago and it lasted 8-10 years that I know of, and now serves as a backstop, but was about 3'x5' and 18" thick.
 
The best backstop for the money is a cardboard box filled with rags(cloth). Seriously, if you are looking for an effective target particularly for broadheads, this works great. Use a medium size cardboard box and fill it with old clothes that the wife might be going to get rid of. You don't have to pack the rags very tightly. The fibers in the cloth bunch up and stops the broadhead after going through three or four pieces of fabric. You then reach into the box, find the broadhead, unscrew it, and pull the arrow out effortlessly. Turn the box as a side gets used quite a bit. Don't laugh until you have tried it. Works great. The cloth will not wear out, but you will need to get a new box occasionally.
