Which one do you shoot?

For me. He wouldn't need another year. I guess it depends on your area, heard size and health along with pressure. But for my area that's an excellent buck. I'd shoot one that size any day. Always can coyote hunt.

But since I've had kids. I put more time and effort into them filling tags and getting them out. I'd say 75% of my hunts one of the kids is with me. I get more stoked when they drop one than anything. Now I'm not a horn hunter by no means. But if the deer makes me happy that's all that matters

My little girl (9yo) got her first buck this year. Pretty good 8. My son also took a very nice 8. Although he has bragging rights for the biggest in the family. To be 12 years old and he took his 13th deer this year. His first 2 bucks he killed was spikes. After that. He told me we can't shoot smaller bucks anymore so we can get some decent ones. I seen him pass a 6 point that I'd have mounted. But. After he passed him about 2 hours later that evening he killed a 150 inch 10.


Lot of rambling I know. But I guess the point is if makes you happy. Then by all means be happy. Congratulations
