Which Quota Hunts Are You Planning On

I'm sitting on 13 points and have been saving them for Presidents Island, but with it not producing I might be looking at other hunts.

Oak Ridge is kind of looking good. Shotgun or bow hunt??? That might be the question since I haven't gun hunted in so long.

What is going to be everyone's picks this year??
 
I would hate to drop 13 for any other hunt listed. I think I would just take a point and hold out for PI hoping it improves. OR does look promising since it's been closed for 3 years, but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk of them closing it again like that have for last 3 years after people get selected.

The island has been hunted, no hunts cancelled that I know of.
Oak Ridge hasn't been hunted the past 2 seasons.

I'm in the same boat. last few years P I hasn't been the producing like it did before the floods. I'm seriously considering oak ridge myself. I'm leaning towards the muzzloader rut hunt.
 
if i had a point or two, i would hunt oak ridge. i got the slugs and the smokeless. unfortunately, i have no points and did not even hunt the quota that i drew last year. ;(
 
If you put in for PI make sure it's the December hunt and don't screw up like I did last year and also put in for the October hunt. It absolutely sucked all the way around. I'll never put in for PI again because it's not worth the 10+ year wait but if I was in your shoes I'd hold out until I drew it at this point. Good luck!
 
I put in for Pres Island for 10 years straight. Was finally selected. That was the year there was a torrential downpour both days.

Correct, but OR has cancelled all their hunts just before season comes in after people have been selected. That's a risk that you must be willing to take. Totally understand you holding off on PI too.

do you get your points back if they cancel? if so then it would be no risk.
Just thinking through it there is no way the TWRA can take away the points if OR cancels. In other words if they cancel you should get your points back +1
 
Just put mine and the boys in. Yuchi is the only thing that interests me, it's closer to home for us, and so far it's given us some good memories. Now we wait! 😩
 
Just put all my points in for the OR archery hunt.
I think it will be a great hunt if they open it up this year.
