Which Quota Hunts Are You Planning On

You'll have a good hunt. I've hunted OR a bunch.

Take advantage of the scout day and find the deer escape routes into the safety zones.

Definitely stay in your stand from 10-3. After the first hour of the hunt, you're hunting deer that are being pushed by other hunters and they'll be bumping them on their way to and from lunch.

Don't be afraid to hunt next to a road. My best spot, I'd wave to guys as they drove by.

Being walked on by other hunters is going to happen. There's a ton of people on those hunts. It seems like a nuisance, but they're the ones who end up pushing the deer towards you.

COVID is the reason the past couple of years but they also canceled the turkey hunts again this year because of COVID but I found it funny they dropped the mask requirements on-site the same week they canceled the turkey hunts this year. That hunt had more to do with the Russia bs.

Just thinking through it there is no way the TWRA can take away the points if OR cancels. In other words if they cancel you should get your points back +1

Yes you get all your points back and one for the year they canceled just like not getting selected for one

yes everyone got their point back. at this pint there should be a most with 2-3 points to hunt now.
 
I'm going to build up points again and hope that they fix the Yuchi hunts by the time that I can draw again. I used to love that hunt but it has been totally ruined with crazy regs
 
I put in for the November Yuchi hunt. I have 1 preference point this year.

I had 5 and used them to draw Yuchi in 2020, and then got covid the week before the hunt.

Hoping for not a repeat of that.
 
I have 12 and don't know what I will do, I have come to realize driving as far as I would have to for PI to hunt with a bow and count 9 points is just not worth it at my age. I have hunted oak ridge in the past and there seems to be no getting away from people no matter what you do, or at least my experience ( probably just my luck) Lol. Then you have " earn a buck" on a two day quota hunt? That makes it rough on a man. Even if you kill a doe early depending on weather, you have to get it out and taken care of to keep the meat good. This could take half your day on a two day hunt. Decisions , Decisions! Lol, I will just make a decision and go with it. Maybe even just put in for a point. Good luck to all applying!
