I ordered a cheap 300 blackout upper from bear creak arsenal. I threw a scope I had laying around on it and shot it this past weekend. There were no hick ups and it was not bad accuracy. I am planning to shoot mostly subsonic rounds through it and was hoping to get a chance to play around with dialing in out past 100yds just for fun. Although I am kind of a scope snob, I am not wanting to spend much money on a scope. Midway USA has a couple that I have been considering provided they don't sell out before I make a decision. The 2 I am looking at are

Being somewhat of a scope snob, I have never been impressed with vortex glass but I can make an exception for the price. Truglo has somewhat of a bad reputation but the Tx6 doesn't sound bad. I am trying to keep cost as low as possible without going over $300 max.

Id have a hard time recommending a truglo scope of any kind if im being honest. Granted ive never had one or looked though one or even known anyone that had one but part that tells me a good bit.

If your down between those Id go with the vortex at that price solely on the warranty and customer service aspect. Im fairly anti vortex but thats a good price at least on it and that model specifically has pretty good reviews.

Having said that not sure what your plan is for the gun but that vortex is fairly heavy and has all exposed tall turrets which seems excessive for a sub sonic 300 blackout but maybe thats what you prefer.

Just my opinion: Leupold vx-freedom,
Low power variable, or absolute max 3-9 power. They are available with exposed and calibrated to caliber elevation knob. Base models are $300. I believe there is a used one for sale here, 3-9x40, set up for 5.56. Or post a "looking for" advertisement in the classifieds.
