White men can't jump...

Certainly seems like the black athletes are faster. And that football is a stepping stone out of poverty. They want to play for a college scholarship and then play for the NFL...and be famous and rich. I can't really blame them.

Kids in my area are playing baseball/softball, soccer, or rugby.

Not many white guys that play in the NBA/NFL:/
But how many black guys play Hockey/Race NASCAR?

Im gonna guess, Golf, Moto Racing of any kind, weight lifting, Bowling, tennis, even stuff like pro fishing tournaments, I can keep going lol, But im gonna guess there Not many back guys who play them sports.

So I would not say white kids just play video games thats why there none in the NFL lol

Given the ease of pointing out the "whites" proves the anomaly.

Agreed. They are the exception, not the norm.

I have watched SEC match ups where at times there is not a single white kid on the field on offense or defense. It's certainly not specific to the SEC, but it does seem to become more evident the farther south you go.

Just look at the top 10 recruiting classes, most of which are southern teams that primarily recruit from the south.

All quarterbacks (a position where speed is secondary to other skills) except for the black running backs. Your arguement is invalid. You are grasping at straws. The original topic was that football is becoming a predominantly black sport. Tell us, what percentage of the Nfl is black and what is white? :pop:

Ha - I knew it! Despite your multiple denials, you really do watch the NFL!
Believe what you want. I do not watch the NFL at all. I did not watch one minute of the stupor bowl. Why would I deny it? I'm in the minority. I know most men spend their Sundays on the couch watching the idiot box. As a matter of fact the only college game where I can sit and watch every play is a Tennessee game. I'm just not much of a tv watcher. But, everyone knows the nfl is predominantly black.
A self proclaimed COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANATIC can only sit and watch a whole game if it is the ut vols? Sounds like your just a Tennesse vols fanatic. And YES, the nfl is most definately predominately black, as is college football.

There is some truth to this. I just have too many other things I like to do. I can't sit on the couch and watch football all day. Watching Tennessee play is the only time I make football a priority. I will watch bits and pieces of a good SEC matchup. If alabama is getting beat I will watch that. I live on a lake and if we aren't at the hunting club my son usually has me out fishing. Life is too short to spend it sitting, staring at a tv in my humble opinion.

you are correct in your assessment that there are more black players in NFL football. my examples just document a fact that white players can succeed at the highest level in the game

espn did a story recently about the lack of black players that are in MLB. there percentage has rapidly declined. of course, the increase in central American players can account for the declining percentage.

You are right, football is predominately black so is basketball and track. Baseball is becoming more latino. Hockey is predominately white. I would consider those the main stream sports. I don't know anything about soccer but I don't think that is main stream once you get out of high school.

^^^ I would consider NASCAR a main stream sport also Think it has had the most fans/ Voted the most popular sport for years! Its mostly white drivers. But A lot of people would argue that you need more Money then talent to race in the pros may be so don't watch it or follow it:/

But I promise the drivers put in A lot of time and training to do what they do, and it does take A lot of talent.

I didn't think about nascar, it does take a lot of physical ability to be able to drive those cars for 500 miles. I wasn't thinking of it being a sport but I guess it would be. You just don't think of a nascar driver as being "athletic". You have to be in good physical shape but it doesn't matter if you can't run or jump or throw. You do have to have endurance though.
