The Ruger Hawkeye Compact has a 16" barrel... available in 7/08

I looked at them first. I may have missed it completely but the Super Lite is the only one I could find that would work, and TBH I didnt wanna spend $1k on a Howa

I'm not against that if I can find one cheap but ideally didn't wanna spend $800 on a gun and then another $200-$300 on a stock

I've seen where people do the opposite swap and sell the standard LOP stock quite often for around $100 I've also heard Ruger will send you one if you get ahold of customer service. Could be a rumor but worth checking in to. (But I did hear that going the other way to a youth stock)

I have en encore that I had made with an 18 inch barrel made for it. It's like a toy. lol. Pretty sweet for climbers. But yes they are hard to find affordable. Christensen arms makes one but expensive. I looked and looked and had one built. Hard to find factory.

I searched gunbroker and only guns with short barrel 7/08 came up was the ruger compact, and an ar type. Maybe find a used model 7?
