Who would still turkey hunt if....?

I wouldnt hunt them nearly as much, but i would still get me some Breast meat when needed, good stuff!

Oh it is here afraid to say. I hunt north GA a lot and it has been open over a week now. I have only heard gobbles last weekend on opening day. Gobbled their heads off on the roost. Haven't heard a word since. I know they are there but not talking. I have seen hens by themselves clucking and yelping, but no tom. Really weird start to the season. Saw to big boys today by together so they are in trouble in the morning. Cross my fingers!

Sorry to here you went all that way not to hear any capt. Not trying to rub salt in the wounds ,but like I said maybe there is more to it than our 4 bird limit. What state were hunting btw?

I was in Miss, and the birds were there, tracks, strut marks, poop, and and dust pits do not lie. Nor do hundreds of sightings during deer season. The birds are there, they just were locked down.

If history repeats itself then the silence will soon spread northward this way.

I would. Walking and stalking is just as much fun and it's a lot harder to get close. I love to sit and call but there are a lot of days they are not going to respond. When that happens I get mobile.

when they are gobbling it makes it alot more fun no doubt. but ive killed several birds that never made a sound. its just puttin yourself where they wanna be.
