Who's got their opening day spot picked?

Supposed to have baseball practice at 9:00 but may push it back til 10:00 and try to get a little hunting in. Planning to hit a small private tract down the road but they've built and are building houses around it so not sure what's gonna happen there. Probably get up Friday morning and go over to listen and see if I hear anything.

Most of the turkeys I am seeing in my neck of the woods are still in winter flock mode, 10-20 hens in a group with 2-5 strutters accompanying them.

Exactly what's going on at my place. I would love to have seen someone call one in on my place this past weekend. I honestly believe the only way to kill one on my place would be to bushwhack him. They gobbled very little on the limb, and after they hit the ground a light switch was turned off and you couldn't even hear a hen.

I'll be on private land in the edge of the woods, with a field on one side and a holler with a small creek running through it in front of me. Normally a very quiet and peaceful place, hopefully a gobbler will disturb the peace and quiet while I'm there...

Well crap. It's not looking good for this spot. My cousin lives right past this place and said he hasn't seen or heard any birds on it. I knew it would end at some point but was hoping it wasn't this year. :(

My son and I have decided to take a tent over on Friday and stay the whole weekend. I hope the birds are more active than last weekend. Hard to hunt all day 2 days in a row when the birds aren't thinking about love.
