Wild antler growth on a spike

I noticed the lower right hindquarter has some skin peeled back. Maybe an injury caused the antler to form like this?

Probably due to a injury on his left side!!

The picture of the picture makes it hard to tell, but that back leg pic kinda looks like there is a tumor. May be an injury to the antler itself that caused it to grow that way, looks like it has a knot just above the eye.

Looks like the pedicel is broken. That doesn't bode well for him

I think that growth is due to getting his antler broken over while it is growing.

I suspect an injury to the antler itself.
