Not when it was originally enacted and not any more in Tennessee.

Muzzleloading seasons were created when there was just black powder and pyrodex powder

TWRA has allowed those nitrofire guns now.

They do not completely load from the muzzle defeating the purpose of a muzzleloader season.

until the nitrofire guns the only regulation i seen concerning muzzleloaders was the ability to load from the muzzle only. I've never seen a powder requirement

Everyone I know that hunts in MS with a single shot 35 whelen has a scar on their eyebrow. Funniest thing ever.

Had a cva 35w that was accurate but kicked like a mule!
never found scope mounts that worked finally gave up and got rid of it

It should still be that way then (propellant and projectile loaded from the muzzle) if you are going to have a "muzzleloading" season

But the original seasons were not set when smokeless long range scoped muzzleloading rifles were available

I'm confused on why if someone shoots smokeless the thread immediately turns into someone hunting at 10000yds with a muzzleloader? People do the same thing with tss and turkeys. They automatically assume if you're shooting tss you're shooting a turkeys at 200yds.

Lots of guys around here use smokeless and a long shot is 100yds.

I agree with this. My favorite gun to use for whitetail even in gun is my TC Prohunter 50 cal. I love the process of it and let's be honest, you pick your shots better with it knowing you got one chance.

I sincerely hope TWRA does NOT change the muzzleloader season in any way. It's perfect just the way it is.

If any drastic changes were to be made I say set seasons limits hunt with what you want to. Stop all this seasons and see who the die hard trophy hunters are, bow hunters want to drastically cut out any form of rifle hunting so they have less competition in the woods. I read it a lot on this site. I say
