Winchester long beard xr

The big story is that just about the complete pattern was inside 14" like others have said and Hevi had a bunch of shot way out side that. No question about it Winchester is the better shell at half the price. I'll be shooting it for sure.

Let's still not forget that lead is still lead and hevi will hit harder. Down range energy should be a higher priority then high numbers. Obviously that's to an extent but should be remembered

Yea, thats right but if its pepper size shot all the way to #2 like some have found in Magblend, I'd rather shoot Winchester. Dead is Dead but I wanna shoot the best out there. Half the price and at least 56 more #6 inside the 10" plate. I'll save my money and shoot the better shell.

I shot the 6's today at 45 yards out of my nova with a jelly head 655..it put 210 pellets inside a 10 inch circle impressive !!! But I had a lot of pellets that where stuck in the card board that didn't pass through !! I m going to stick with the 5's got complete pass through and still had 167 pellets inside a 10" circle !! The 6's worry me with down range energy !! Jmo

I patterned the 3.5" Long Beard #4's today thru my Benelli SBE w/26" barrel and a Jellyhead .655 and put 145 pellets in the 10" circle @ 40 yards. I was very impressed to say the least.

then use #5s because they hit plenty hard

I don't care what folks use, just making sure some under how HTL vs lead works.

Yes but that's not considering distance. 200 22bullets vs 5 45 cal going approx the same speed at muzzle velocity are not really equal at 200yds. I'd rather have the bigger harder hitting round and give up higher amounts of other stuff.

I mean in simple terms would you rather a guy throw a sledge hammer at you at 40yds or would you rather him throw 5 small hammers at you if they both were going the same speed :)

#6 shot will be fine on close shots, but shots with some distance on them will cause some lost birds. I would not shoot anything smaller than 5 shot.

Not if I was going to shoot further than 40-45 yards. As good as the patterns are from these shells, I would definitely shoot 5s if I was going to shoot lead.
