How Many Rape Reports Are False?
SEPT 19, 2014 3:15 PM EDT
By Megan McArdle

http://www.bloombergview.com/articles/2014-09-19/how-many-rape-reports-are-false

"...What we know is that we don't know. We should not presume that every rape victim is telling the truth because it would make it easier for victims to come forward. Nor should we presume that every rape accusation has a 50 percent chance of being false. We should look at the facts in each case and judge them with the knowledge that some women do lie about rape -- for revenge, to cover up some problem in their own lives, to get attention and sympathy from others. And also with the knowledge that men lie, too, violating their victims a second time in order to cover up their crimes. And that while men have gone to jail for rapes they did not commit, many other men have avoided the jail time they deserved for terrible crimes against women..."

"...Feminists would like to rectify that unfairness by treating rape accusations as presumptively true, making it easier for victims to come forward. That's understandable. But there's a risk that this makes it easier for false accusations to get through the system, resulting in destroyed lives for men such as Brian Banks. Men's-rights activists would like to make it harder for innocent men to get caught in a web of lies, so they want rape accusations to be interrogated with deep suspicion. But treating rape victims as possible or likely liars may make it harder for them to go forward, leaving rapists free to stalk their next victim.

No one wants to openly advocate for a hard choice that will end in injustice for someone. So instead we get the war of bad statistics, with each side claiming certainty when all we really have are dark crimes and dark numbers..."

^^^^ yup heard that story on ESPN they asked the store owner he says Its 100% False.

They also asked winston if this is what happened why is he just now saying this, why did he not take the store owner, cops, coach who ever and have them set down with "his boy that hooked him up" and have him explain??

The way the owner said This is NOT the way it happened! And the fact winston has been asked about this 1million times, and this is the first time we have heard this story. Makes it look like he just made this up, changed his story to make him look a little better it just made him look like a lier, and someone that can't keep a story stright.

Donkey I posted this months ago about his hookup at Publix.
NFL investigated it ,100% true. Publix employees fired. Never lied the first time Donkey. ESPN are the liars, better get used to it.They are in control of college football. Publix trying to save face over FSU changing to Winn Dixie. Everyone in Tally knew about this 1 year ago. Welcome to the party. Still waiting on the post from expert redblood. Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston's story explanation about receiving free Publix food has been corroborated by NFL investigators, according to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman. But Publix is also disputing that claim, per USA Today. So now the NFL is lying for Winston.

Winston originally took heat for stealing crab legs from the store, but recently told Jim Harbaugh on ESPN that he received the food free of charge from a store employee.

Freeman said he asked an NFL general manager about the incident.

"Our investigators found several Publix employees who corroborated what Winston said. Winston told this story to our team and I believe others. We were able to determine that he was telling the truth. I won't get into more detail than that.

"Should Winston have taken free food? No, of course not. But college football stars, at every campus in America, get free stuff. They all do. Every single one.

"We feel like Winston was wrong but he's part of an overall college system where this happens daily. My personal opinion is that on this issue, and this issue alone, he was hung out to dry."

Been called a thief for that exp & he kept quiet & accepted it! Says a lot about him falling on the sword for his tm https://twitter.com/fupan26/status/590910237395144706
This from the NFL,Kirk Herbstriet and Bleacher Report. :poke: :poke:   :pop: :pop:

Sounds to me like someone isn't telling the truth:

....Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, asked Wednesday during the ACC spring teleconference about Winston's comments, said "it was totally news to me" and that the Seminoles' compliance department was looking into the matter.

"I had no knowledge of it until I came in this morning," Fisher said. "But FSU, we did make contact with Publix back then to make sure there was nothing going on."

Fisher said he was confident the incident was an isolated one.

"The details disclosed by Winston in that interview were not previously known to the University," the school said in a statement Wednesday. "As is the case with all matters of this type, we will work in partnership with the NCAA to determine whether a violation occurred."

Publix said the company conducted an investigation at the time and found "no information that would corroborate the story that there was any arrangement for Jameis or any other FSU athlete to get any product for free."

Maria Brous, Publix's director of media and community relations, told USA Today Sports that the report from the sheriff's office was consistent with his statement a year ago. She also said that Publix employees were asked directly if there was any arrangement with Winston.

"There was no information that would lead us to believe that any of our associates were involved in giving away product," Brous told USA Today Sports....

The free hookup was not aware to Fisher or FSU until Winston made his statement. The money was paid the suspension was served.
This was from a year ago, does it count toward the FULMER Cup. Looks like Brous also lies or it's the NFL. HMMMM
Is Maria a woman or man? This is also conflicting.

Our investigators found several Publix employees who corroborated what Winston said. Winston told this story to our team and I believe others. We were able to determine that he was telling the truth. I won't get into more detail than that. From the NFL.

baddnole, you just said everyone in Tallahassee knew about this a year ago. If that's the case, then why are Jimbo Fisher and FSU now saying this is the first time they've heard about it and why is Publix saying they were not aware of any employees who gave away food to FSU players? Why would Publix have fired anyone if Publix never believed "that any of our associates were involved in giving away product."

It sounds to me like you are saying that Jimbo Fisher, FSU and Publix are now all lying.
