Winter and Spring Scouting

I like to scout right after the season ends in January. Trails are easy to see at this time of year. Rubs from this year and years past plus this years acrapes can be seen easily as well before spring green up. Trail cams set now can give you informstion on what made it through the year and allows you to start planning early for next season. I've posted a few rub pictures from this year and years past I found scouting yesterday. I'm hoping whatever made them is still around. What are some of your thoughts on winter and spring scouting? I'd like hear some thoughts and ideas from all of you.

Those signpost rubs will their old scarring are really amazing. I would say you've got at least one old guy around!
