Winterizing

I just purchased my first boat (used). A 2006 stratos 275 with a Mercury 115. The gentleman I purchased it from kept it in his garage so he did not Winterize it. I am keeping it in storage at the moment. Do I need to Winterize it if I keep it in storage? If so, what is the cost of winterizing it? Any advice is much appreciated.

Like others said, I just lower the outboard all the way down.

I will add that I protect my batteries. We know cold weather kills batteries. I have my onboard charger installed where it's easily removable. I bring my onboard charger and all 3 batteries in the house and hook them up. My batteries are out of the cold temps and my charger monitors them all winter. The downside is if we get a warm day and I want to fish I don't have any batteries in the boat.

If you are unsure of things just take it fishing :D

Keep your batteries charged and fresh gas for the outboard. I like my boat to be ready to go whenever.
