Anybody hunted Badger State turkeys? A buddy and I are driving up next week. Planning to hunt state forrest and may knock on a few doors. I'm not looking for specific intel, but I'd be curious to hear overall perspectives if you've been.

It's a big state.
Southwest has probably the biggest population.
Go on the WDNR website. Great public c land info.
If you go anywhere around LaCrosse, bring fishing stuff and go to Clements Fishing Barge on the Mississippi

North central IL as far as I've kilt. It can can be spring today and straight up winter tomorrow. No kidding.

I did a couple of years ago in mid- late May for 2 mornings because that's how long it took to fill a tag. I heard 8-10 the first morning and 6 or 8 the next on public land. I thoroughly enjoyed hunting there as I do most of the North or Midwest.

What part of the state were you in? We bought tags for Zone 2, which is southeast.
