I hate this lake! Everyone "say" they catch big bags there but every time I'm there no one catches crap....I have a tournament Saturday there and well here is what happened last week pre-fishing

Woods was a great lake 30 years ago. I have not fished it in in almost 20 years. Things may have changed in the last 20 years but back then it was way too small for the amount of pressure it got. Last time I went, I made the mistake of going in April on a Saturday. I swear there was a bass boat every 50 ft all the way around the lake. By 9 am, every inch of bank had been pounded by an infinite number of fishermen. Never went back.

The problem is that it got a reputation for monster small mouth. There was one local guy who had caught what seemed like dozens on trophy small mouth. He got national attention. That was it for the lake.

I had good success on black and blue jig when i fished Woods.

The Lake has been giving up GIANT bags but not for me....The last 3 years it seems a 9lber is caught every week.
