I really don't see it happening this way azzani will be OC and if they do hire debord he will be a position coach.

Debord is being hired because CBJ has lost the only OC that he has ever had and Azzanni is probably gone. CBJ is trying to stabilize the program by bringing in an old coach that he has coached in the past with at CMU.

These changes could set UT back some and only time will tell.... :pop:

As bad as you want all this to happen you know it's not going to. No one is heading to CMU.

Your getting all giddy over the thoughts of this huh GNB.

Butch has already said that he wants somebody that "fits" this offense, meaning somebody that knows it and has run it. Debord didn't run the spread. Bajakian was not only the OC but also the QB coach. Debord isn't a QB coach and with the QBs we have coming in, one will be needed. Look at Debords resume. It's got Offensive Line coach all over it. Weird that that happens to be one of the things TN was the weakest at in 2014. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that since Butch is in the OC search mode, he might as well overhaul the OL coach as well, enter Debord. Butch has been busting tail in Knoxville despite what some people like you may think and has made drastic improvements overall here. With the opportunity that has been presented to him by being able to hire any of multiple OC that has already been in contact with him, why would he hire a guy that has not run the spread offense, is not a QB coach and has been out of the game for so long?

It's been 2 days since Bajakian left. With all that hangs on this OC hire, I don't see Butch hiring the first guy to come along. Not without looking at all of the options first.

???????????? It's not 2008 and Phil Fulmer is not interviewing him. Is there supposed to be some kind of cryptic message in that link?

Oh, you you wanted me to see the part about the QB, right?

Again, he was/is a pro style offense kind of guy. Being able to coach a pro style QB in an offense like TN runs means squat.

CBJ has lost the only OC that he has ever had.... Yes, he looking for an old buddy to hold his hand.... :tu:

Na what he's looking for is a guy that knows his way around a spread offense and can coach some spread QBs because his job depends on it.

Debord ain't the guy. Sorry. :tu:
