I know a lot of you have had success already as the rut is ending in the northern part of the state. Here in S Wayne county there appears to be just a couple of cold days in the futurecast with multiple high 60 low 70 days.
Oh well, got to be in the woods to kill deer and tomorrow actually looks like a good opportunity.

I'm in North Lauderdale, AL. Tell me about it. Full moon & warmer than normal weather during normal window for rutt. I think the rut here was spread out more than it usually is.

We usually see a big surge 12/8 - 12/15. Do you around that timeframe? Unfortunately I have a wedding in Knoxville I have to go to this weekend . Trying to direct my cousin where to go though.

I feel for you Bushape!
I have always seen deer chasing in Perry county up until Christmas. I am 57 years old and have been hunting this county off and on since I was 9. Most of the decent bucks I have killed have been in what used to be the second gun season. My trail cam photos have about dried up in my food plots so I hope something is about to bust loose.

I have been seeing some older bucks and younger bucks on there feet. this week I got pics of couple really good bucks and couple youngens. And seen a mature scent checking Monday late afternoon. The ones I got on cam was Monday night. Just seen a good buck 10 feet behind a doe with my headlights. So I'm not sure exactly but some activity is going on. I'm in east Tn by the way.

I live in NW Lauderdale. Hunt just across the line.

One of the biggest bucks I have ever seen was in a bean field just before dark with a pack of does on Christmas Eve. Got daylight pics of a mature buck last year on Jan 7.

We've had a good number of bucks killed on our place un that window too.

I'm headed to Mississippi next week. Rut there is usually the week or 2 before Christmas. Highs in the 70s next week. Ughhh. Can't ever remember it being that hot

I saw a total of 1 shooter buck this year tending a doe. Thats zero chasing. It was a tough year for sure.

It's about over in SE Wayne. Cameras saw lots of chasing and standing with does late last week and the weekend. Lined up with all the fawns alone late last week. The last 5 days of November there were lots of big bucks cruising midday. Almost all my pics were midday.

All the doe groups are just about back together as of yesterday afternoon. But as they say, it was right on time.

The heat really hurt the hunters for sure. Nebraska was the same way. Really warm and hunting was really tough there also. The alfalfa was as green as July and I've never seen that or anything close. I joked with my friend that he may get another cutting by Christmas.

I've probably heard 15 shots this year. I've hunted a bunch. I wasn't here opening weekend but they said it was quiet then. I've seen pics of a few good ones but normally my phone is blowing up to score deer for people.

With the acorn crop and so far mild fall, next year looks promising 😂

Other than this coming weekend (short cold snap), temps look way above normal until Christmas week. GFS models have a big front coming through Tuesday, Dec. 21, then VERY cold up to Christmas. Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve in the teens.

Yea like stated above it will happen regardless but your right, when the weather is really warm much of the action will happen at night!
