Worst trail cam of 2010?

I'm having better luck with the WGI X6C , but it still has some minor issues . Good cam when compared to the BTC though .

Just sent my Cuddeback Excite back for the second time in the last year. It was replaced with the Capture, and will be the only Cuddeback I ever own. Never again.

Been using my Scoutguard SG550V for the last 2 years and taken several thousand pictures with no problems at all. I will buy some more Scoutguards!

I've been running 3 for the past 2 years, never a problem until one unit experienced a runaway episode this year and filled the card up in 12 hours. Hasn't done it again since. Anybody know what the dealer cost on them is? They're down to around $150 new from some ebay dealers now. My only complaint is the max card is 2gb on the 550's

I didn't buy any cams this year, but really wanted to get a uway... heard of the few random problems and decided to wait till next year hoping they are all sorted out.

I honestly think about all of the China made commercial cameras in the $200 range tend to run about the same level of failures. Its amazing how many die right after the warranty goes out.

Mine is supposed to have a two year warranty .

#1 Bushnell trail cam.....I am on my replacement and it's a piece of crap as well.

#2 Moultrie......LCD screens have gone out in both. Customer service is in Philappines, although I bet there are folks in Alabama where the company is located would like that job!

I just send my moultries to this address.
Moultrie Feeders
ATTN: C/S Department
150 Industrial Road
Alabaster, AL 35007

They have all way done me right.

i have a primos trail cam it has no issues and the clunk noise every one is talks about doesnt affect the deer after 2-3 pic taken.
My buddy had a moultrie that failed after about 3 weeks,so he got his money back and got a primos

Not liking what I am reading here. I got the Bushnell TC for Christmas. So far so good, of course it's only been in the woods for a few weeks and it is still under warranty.

Our 4 moultrie d40's have run flawlessly year round for years with no problems whatsoever.
Yep I too have had good luck out of some of the earlier and cheap Moutrie models.

very happy with my Moultrie I 90 or 60 (can't remember the number).

I will never spend more than $150 or so on a camera unless I have very good reason to believe that it will last. I've spend a lot of money on high dollar cameras (Leaf Rivers) that lasted 3 years and then crapped out. For $300+ they should last a lot longer than that.

I'd have to vote for the Bushnell Trophy cam . I'm on my second cam with runaway issues .
Might have agreed, back in October, but now will say the worst I've ever experienced is the Uway.

In October 2010, I purchased a Bushnell Trophy, and two Uways.
The Bushnell had major run-away trigger issues and the picture color is way off (i.e. "purple" deer), but 6 months later, it is still working, with few trigger issues if the sensitivity is kept at "normal".

On the other hand, the Uways have never worked properly (if at all). Currently have the #4 and #5 replacement for those original two, and both of these last replacement units were doa, neither would even power up. Seems a total waste of time and effort to even consider getting any more replacement units from Uway ---- absolutely the worst trail cam experiences I've ever had. And to add insult to injury, their "remotes" were as bad as their cams. Hours could be wasted in discerning if the failures were due to a bad cam or a bad remote, or in most cases, both were bad.

I've heard some have had good experiences with the Uway NT50 "red glow" models, but mine were the NT50B "black flash". Other than BSK, I've yet to know of anyone possessing a properly working model of the NT50B. I've had five (5) different NT50B units in hand since October 2010, and yet to see one that worked as advertised, if at all. Again, the last two warranty replacements received (March 2011) did not work at all. Does it get any worse than that?

Wes, that absolutely sux and I hate it for you! Im SO glad I waited, as I too was planning to order some of the Black flash Uways, and decided to just wait and see how they did! Best decision Ive made in a while, as your story is pretty much verbatim from anybody I know who has bought them!!
Between them and Cuddeback, the last few years have shown some pure junk in new trail cams!
