the damage comes from the charging system on the motor, particularly a stator/rectifier/regulator setup. the same reason they dont recommend using an AGM on some of the lower hp motors. if you dont know for sure, call the manufacturer.

Heck basically the same kind of boat I have but an xpress. You'll love the lithium batteries for usage time and weight. What kind of trolling motor you getting and what's the setup battery wise for your Livescope.

I don't know about Suzuki but Yamaha says DO NOT use a lithium battery for starting

I bought a 54ah Dakota Lithium and put it in the front of my boat just to run my black box, lvs34, and 1222. I didn't want to chance not having enough battery and I wanted a dedicated power source for my livescope system.

Yea, no way I'm using it on mine. I actually thought about disconnecting the ability for my motor to charge and just use the lithium to start without charging from the motor. I don't idle or run enough long distance to amount to much charging.
