Just to be honest-I'd shot that one first time I saw it..It wasnt for lack of trying to get killed. This boy danced in my corn fields the entire seasons- pretty much every afternoon and most mornings.
Glad the season is over- will be October again before you know it….
He needed another yr for sure. He wjll never be great, but 5.5 is the magic age. He grew very little from last yr.He wouldn't have danced in front of me for long! He'll be nice bext year also.
That at the mouth of our farm, at the end if a deadend rd that empties into my driveway. He is pretty safeA road rider's dream come true!
He is in good shape and a place where he is very u likely to get hit by a car. I like his chances. Plus he is a true homebody.Nice buck, hope he makes it until next season.
Well i guess im lucky hes a long way from Sullivan county then lolJust to be honest-I'd shot that one first time I saw it..
Its not the rack for us, we manage by age. My 14 yr old son has passed that deer a dozen times and a couple just as nice. The thrill is the anticipation to see what he will be next yr and since he is a homebody, we should have a shot at him…..hopefully with a bowIf I ever reach a point that a buck like that doesn't get me excited I'll take up pickleball or bowling.![]()
great young buckHad a nice 8 in 2022 that looked the exact same in 2023. I think he was 5.5 in 2023. Had him at 10 yards Oct 8 of 23'. Unfortunately found him dead in Dec of the same year. He'd been shot far back and died a few weeks later. I would've killed him this year at 6.5 no matter how much he'd grown.
