Ooof, I have been close to doing that as well, luckily I had it in 4x4 and managed to climb out. They really need to manage the leading edge of those ramps, many have a good drop off the end.

Dropped my left trailer tire off on a hole on the Northshore ramp on Loudon. I was going to run the engine about 20 min after getting back from a fishing trip to the coast.

I tried everything and gave up and called a wrecker with a winch. That and my 4WD got it out. Wrecker guy " everyone knows there's a hole on the left".

That ramp is a drop off for sure in the winter. It's pretty dang deep at the ramp drop off also. I always use that ramp to launch my boat but I have a 16' aluminum boat and back down in the winter just enough to push my boat off by hand. I do NOT wait for it to float.

Just a couple of miles down the road is probably the best boat ramp in Soddy. Very wide and no drop off with a dock. I say from here on out he'll be using the other ramp.

Should definitely be some type of warning sign there. When we started going to Tim's Ford and looking at ramps somebody told us about one that's fine in summer pool but based on their comments would be like the one pictured above in winter.

Ummmm, is that a boat bow down in front of that ramp at the time of that picture?
Interesting timing if that's the case. And yes those holes look like a great place to snatch the axle off a trailer.

It sure appears to be a transom with a black outboard upon closer inspection .

Yes that's the boat with the motor sticking up.

yes, that is the boat. pictures are from the rescue team, as you can see the truck and trailer have been removed already.
