Vehicles we should be allowed to buy. (not EVs)

I didn't want to hijack the EV truck thread. I don't want an EV. I want better options to better vehicles that should be allowed to be imported here. There are tons of options in other countries that our EPA and government restrict us from getting access to.

EPA claims that these vehicles aren't fuel efficient. They are way more fuel efficient than comparable vehicles sold by our local manufacturers. Could it be if imports were affordable and available they would severely impact the american made companies? I say great! The competition would increase the performance and longevity nationwide. We might actually get back into high quality 4 wheel drive trucks that last if this was possible.

I'm not into EVs and if I really wanted a dream car here's a handful I'd love to have access to.

My 2010 Mercedes GL350 gets 24 on highway. My 2008 Mazda CX9 barely gets 17 on highway....it is terrible and basically a Ford.

The unimog would be atop my list. it's a camper, it's a beast, it has countless implements and is used as a farm tractor overseas. The possibilities are endless with these.

My point exactly, why are we stuck with poor performance and poor choices when if we look outside of our box there are so much bigger and better things going on with vehicles!

My 2020 Tacoma (manual trans 4x4) doesn't get anywhere near 30 mpg; more like 18-19 with 33's on it. Stock it would get 20-21 if I babied it.

I know, man my 2004 sequoia gets 13 mpg, it's pitiful.

when you look at stats on the diesel hilux, you say wow! You've gotta admit the EPAs claims of saving us from fuel consumption are a crock of lies.

Are we purposely being steered towards accepting EVs?
