Yeah they both deployed last week. Left them in a wet compartment and the humidity got up Monday and they both blew up.
Got soaked again yesterday so as soon as I got home I got them out to dry. Lol
One reason I have the old school style vest. I would have the same luck you have with the self inflating one. Especially fishing from a kayak, where getting splashed is common.
 
My neighbor lets his (adult) son take his boat out. One day I was over at his house, and he opens the compartment and sure enough.. there's an inflated vest.

His son was also there and he immediately says something like "dangit son.. you put a wet vest in the compartment and it inflated!"

He immediately starts trying to make an excuse "I didn't put a wet vest in there!! It must have gotten too hot in there and inflated!"

Yeah.. we fish with them in the summer sun everyday, and it got too hot in the garage and inflated!!! :rolleyes:

We still joke about it. "Sure is hot today.. hope our vests don't inflate!".
