2023 Kill Thread

Been watching this buck since a week or two before opening. Not the biggest horned buck I've got running around but maybe one of the oldest I've ever shot. Taxidermist buddy aged him at 5n half minimum possibly 6n half said he was definitely on the decline..Opening weekend had him within 40-50 yards but wasn't comfortable with the shot. Was showing up pretty routinely feeding in pasture in the evenings until we changed our cows over to feed new grass. So, changed my tactics up and went to a spot Sunday evening that I usually don't hunt until muzzleloader.. he came in around 530 feeding on acorns with a group of does had him at 30 yards and let the arrow fly. Ran about 40 yards and it was over.
