2024 Live from the stand

They are feeling good here this frosty December morning. Had 4 or 5 antlerless(one looked like a button) running around playing and chasing each other while two bigger does just fed. Good luck to everyone still hunting.

Been a fantastic morning here so far. Lost count on does, 3 different bucks and just watched 3+ minutes of one heck of a fight. Really considered shooting the bigger buck just before the other came out. Probably a 3.5 year old maybe older, not much for antlers. Have video of the fight but will have to try to load it when I have wifi. This short clip was just a minute or two before the fight started.

Killed a 10pt in this spot many many years ago, haven't hunted it hardly at all over the Years. I'm not seeing anything in my normal spots so I thought I'd go old school and do a ground hunt. It where a Hollar ends into a big flat creek bottom. Behind me is two small fields.

Thank you God for all you give us. What a great day today was for deer movement here. Secondary rut maybe? Ended up having several opportunities this afternoon and just took it in. Had the wide buck my son missed broadside in my scope multiple times and never even flipped off the safety. The winner of the fight i shot video of on my phone this morning was in the plot, totally oblivious of the much nicer racked buck on the treeline working several scrapes.

I didn't hunt today. After seeing y'all's movement reports makes me wish I would have. I went to town about 4 to pick us up some food and coming back there's a crop field in the city limits and there were 5 or 6 deer in the field about 250 yards away. One had to be a 150" plus. He was a stud. It's only 1.5 miles from my house. Wish he'd make his way down here.

Finally started seeing deer this early this morning . Several about 200 yards away but couldn't put horns on any of them. It would have been a tough shot anyways through the woods. About 9 ish a six point come over the ridge about 50 yards from me . Scoped him and was looking to send one his way but talked myself out-of it . He had a decent rack but he was young . Boy I wanted to pull that trigger because I haven't shot at anything ....he was even heading towards the truck but patience won out .
