came in along with 2 doe..

The .54 cal flintlock had been loaded since opening of muzzleloader season .

She went off without a hitch, double lunger at 65 -70 yards.

Yeah, shot video of him with my phone for several minutes. Very rare that the deer I pass are ever seen again in the following year, but this one has been around our little property a lot, hoping passing him so many times pays off next season.

I've found if you gotta talk yourself into shooting it or not you usually end up wishing you wouldn't have. Good looking set up you got there.

It won't take nothing that even remotely resembles that buck for me to shoot at it . Knowing it's got a good chance being around next year makes it easy. I have passed some decent bucks on my property in the past when I had leases in middle Tennessee but now this is all I've got to hunt plus my neighboring property. You have great patience.

Actually pretty unlikely here based on past experience, but I have seen him and could have killed him at least a half a dozen times now. Guess knowing I could have and instead shot him with my phone will have to do for this season. Guess there was a reason I killed the buck I did a couple weeks ago, because if I hadn't, I doubt I would have let him walk again today.

He has been around our little farm since before season opened though, so maybe.... Then again come next season i may very well be kicking myself in the hind end. I passed a lot of 3.5's last year, but none were seen as many times as I saw this deer, and none of those deer were seen by me or by our trail cams this season at all.

He actually has another one coming off the back side and one off the back right side as well..

Both the back ones are about 1" long..

I'm done as of yesterday. Been a really rough season at my place but still managed to get a nice buck down. Missed a small basket buck the other weekend and kinda mad about it but atleast he'll be bigger next year.

Well anyways, good luck to all that are out ! Today's the last day to make it happen for you folks.

Heavy rain here when I got up, opted not to walk out in it. I may try to slip into the stand mid morning if the break in the rain/thunderstorms shown by radar holds out.

Probably my last sit for deer this season. Ear width 6 with no brows and three spikes coming across right now. They fed for just a few minutes.

Just had two more spikes come out of the same spot, also walking across.

Up to 7 bucks this morning and not seen a doe yet. Little 4 just snuck up from behind me.
