Just wondered if anybody had experience with these? I have wondered how they hold together and expand on deer. I know some hunters use them in muzzleloaders at probably 1600 fps or faster.

240s are a little more stout than the 250s. Either will most likely sail through a deer. I like to use the following chart to pick a bullet for the desired velocity:

Either the 240's or a hard cast of about the same weight is what I want. I want to use them in a .45 ACP carbine. It will be loaded up to about. 45 Super or .460 Rowland.

That's what I've always used- they have done great for me over the years.

My old mz loved the 240 xtp MAG with the heavier jacket. Strangely I almost always got a bang flop with those loads on deer. Got a new mz and it shoots a 6" group with the 240s but shoots .75" with the 300 gr. Tried both the regular 300 xtp and the 300 xtp MAG. The regular acts more like a ballistic tip with huge wound channels but every deer has ran, not very far mind you but they all run. With the 300 xtp MAG about half run, the rest are bang flops. Always good performance, 90% of the time get a pass through. Find out what your gun likes, you can't go wrong with the construction of the xtp.

They do well. I eventually settled on the 44/300s because they also performed well and I just had a ton of them, but not a thing wrong with the 45/240s.

And I'm a sucker for pass-throughs. I want a big exit and a blood trail you could see from the International Space Station. XTPs tend to give me that.
