Adrian Peterson arrested for spanking his kid

If anyone can look at that and say this is normal behavior for a parent of a FOUR YEAR OLD then there is something wrong.

My brothers and I used to look like that. Belts, hands, 2x4, and my personal favorite a razor strap. When we all got old enough to leave NONE of ever went back for more than a day. When my Mom got older he started hitting her. She is dead now and I haven't seen the SOB in over 8 month since we put him in an assisted living place and I don't really care to go see him again. Your kids are a blessing and gift from God. There are many ways to discipline other that beating them.

Adrian Peterson is guilty of child abuse.
 
The teachers had paddles they whipped your azz with when I went to school and BRAGGED about the wood shop teacher making custom ones for them that had some extra sting to them and yes they left marks....
It was a BIG deal, which teacher had the BADDEST AZZ paddle when I went to school.
Getting a switch was up to you and you better not come in with some whippy switch or dad was gonna get a freaking tree limb...

I just don't know about this one

It's similar to this topic. Several folks posting about how their grandaddy in 1863 would beat the blood out of the kids and they were all ok. Don't get me wrong guys, I believe in disciplining children, but this is 2014. It's a different world we live in these days. Teaching your children about God, respect and right from wrong, along with a good work ethic is probably more important than beating the hell out of them like your Grandaddy did you.

It because you have grown up in the whossified world. No fault of your own ,but that's what has happened.

Adults and children are as pussifed and helpless and irresponsible as how they are raised
Again not your fault but what you been made to believe.

Trust me I wouldnt allow my grandkids to do the things I did because I like you have been pussified myself just in a different time.
My parent didn't allow me to do the things they did for the same reason.
But ask yourself honestly how could a 13 year old from 20-30 myears ago be so responsible and mature but in todays time no where even close???????
is that not going back in time???
Loook at third world countrys of today and see very very young people doing thing no way in hell you believe your child could do or even yourself at 35 years old..

And HUMANS CAN MATURE MUCH SOONER THAN THEY ARE TODAY. ITS A PROVEN FACT.....
 
Im a firm believer in spanking children, although I don't do it to my 5 year old because he lacks the ability to understand why he is getting spanked, but there is a BIG difference in leaving the skin a little red and drawing blood. AP went over the line according to the pics. I'm sure the intent was not malicious in nature but when you make a child bleed the intent becomes irrelevant.

This thread is about a FOUR YEAR OLD. Not some kid that is old enough to be in school and get spanked by his teacher. Some kids need to be spanked. But no 4 year old needs to have abrasions on his thighs and scrotum because he pushed one of his siblings.

You can raise quite fine members of society without abusing them. If you are leaving wounds on a child from spanking(switch belt hand or anything else) you are probably pretty close to the line of child abuse if not over it. This child was 4 years old and suffered multiple bleeding wounds including ones to his testicles/scrotum, leaves stuffed into his mouth and you think it might be acceptable?

I believe in spanking as much as anyone, but this isn't spanking.

YOu then didn't know PEtee herman, when you grew up. Meanest kid I ever know at two years old... but so was his sisters and whole family. His sisters could whip any guy their age LOL

No, I didn't know PEtee herman. But I did grow up with Pee Wee Herman. Definitely the most "pussified" person in my lifetime.

 
The point is kids are LESS mature and LESS discipline and family values and morals and just family and God are of less importance than ever before, and this country is worse off because of it.
You and I and everyone is a victim of this and have excepted it weather we wont to admit to it or not.
WE can say no we are not, but its happened so yes we have

I don't think more parents abused kids in the 30s or 40s. Disciplined, maybe, but I think a majority of parents love their kids too much to do to them the kind of stuff that is pictured above in 60-70 years ago the same as today.

There is a difference between abuse and discipline and I bet we all know it when we see it. You never paddle a child if you are mad that is abuse and when you do paddle one you do it out of love.
