Any tips for diaphragm users?

I dont think I nor anyone else can just tell you how to do it. Its something you have to learn through alot of practice and experimenting. Once I got I got it down, I put every other kind of call away and just carry mouth calls. Just try blowing air every which way until you get it LOL

hey it killed turkey so thats fine.i use a red wasp now.i know you hate them but its pretty raspy and thats what i like.not the best call but i havent found one with more rasp to it .......yet

If it works stick with it.

I use a red wasp to gobble when I gobble. I don't hate it, it is just a little loud for my tastes. Well made call and certainly pour on the rasp.
 
Trimming the call may affect the sound. I always chew around the rim of the call until it gets soft and will fit your mouth and try to get it as far back as you can in the roof of your mouth. I soak my calls in listerine to help with gagging. ( no inaide jokes plz) Lmao
 
yeah...it seems the more i play with them the more they soften up to form to my mouth structure.

I thought so too!!

but on the serious side. I have been practicing a lot. I was working on my purr on the way in to work this morning. Out of the HS double D or the Primos A-frame double, I have to say I like the feel of the Primos a little better. They are both just standard double reed calls.
 
actually i have got my purrs down pretty good for just a couple of days. I still feel like my cutts are something to work on.
 
i have the yelp, the purr, the cluck and cutt all pretty much down. Not mastered, but they do not sound bad at all compared to other vids i see and online sounds.
 
ive got a HS strut double D with infinity latex...honestly I prefer the primo A frame series stuff I got over it.

Thank you! It took all I had to behave when I read the title. You misbehaved for me so now I can rest easy. :)

As for the calls, I can't use them. When I finally get a sound to come out, I get tickled and sound like a spastic hen on crack being stabbed with a butter knife. :crazy:
