I've not researched it but I wonder what the kinetic energy of the air rifle is compared to other forms. I should think it would be sufficient to take a high shoulder shot. The only reason I wouldn't try a neck shot is the fact that air guns tend to throw a shot once in a while. I don't know if it's true with the big bore gun though.
