Anyone know this guy? Keeps walking the woods my friends are hunting.

Was it really like this in the "good ole days"? Someone cross a property line and the landowner considers plastering their face everywhere, trying to trap dogs, and firing shells right by them?
No we hunted the neighbors property and they hunted ours. We helped our neighbors build fence, haul hay and they helped us. Its only the younger generation that does the keyboard warrior stuff.

I have to say that I recall honoring my "neighbor" in my recall of the time. The problem is basic one understanding of why it has become hard for a landowner to grant hunting rights to an individual that rings his doorbell. I have and will always respect my neighbor and our commitment. However, if he gives someone the opportunity to hunt because he is a child of the deacon from church.....that doesn't give them open land. I am sure you can spell an read....so if you look at the image here and others.....you can see that they are friends of someone who has permission to hunt the neighbor of....a neighbor. They are driving deer to get them up and just giving an opportunity to the sitter a few hundred yards away. You might be old but surely not stupid.

I have bought a few farms....my neighbors on them have crossed borders/fences and cut down trees to burn in their homes without asking. I have had the police ring my door wondering if I robbed the gas station in front of my property and if I was under confinement by an armed individual. I would love to be in the world of......my neighbor protects my border....and I protect his......the sad thing is that we aren't in the 80's or before. Like I said and agreed before with Carlos......to each his own.

You should go back to school and learn to comprehend what you read before you reply. The conversation was about trapping dog's and shooting in the direction of your neighbors.

Forgive me, I was the individual who was firing shells in the air (right by them) so therefore I thought you were referring to me. I must have been mistaken.

That's understandable in these conversations with a lot of post. I will only say the words Poacher and Trespasser are used very liberally on this site, because there are no consequences when typing on a keyboard.

Why in the world would you set out a trap for the dog who is just going where his owner is taking them. Maybe I should start doing that to the fkn neighborhood kids who cut through my 20 acres. I do not understand how some people have this mindset. Yeah let's take the dogs leg off that will really teach the one responsible. No different than blaming the gun for some gangbanger shooting someone.
Not all green stripes earned are over politics.....

Hell man, my trespassing neighbor fires into my woods everytime I attempt to post my place.

If you are trespassing on land that you do not have permission to be on then you are a trespasser.

Im not gonna quote anybody, but guys, really???? Landmines? Bear traps? SHOOTING IN THEIR DIRECTION? If you are trying to get in my house or already in my house, youre dead. Stealing my boat, truck, mower, etc..... out the yard or carport? Yeah, Im holding you until law enforcement arrives. But shooting at me because Im possibly accidentally on your property IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT trying to get my dog??? Yeah, that yugo aint gonna work out the way you think it will, been there done that, got the reputation to back it up. I am NEVER unarmed when in the woods and if you shoot AT me or close enough to me to make me think youre shooting AT me, then Im shooting back and I wont be aiming to scare.
Theres only 2 states that Im aware of where you MIGHT be LEGALLY allowed to escalate a trepass to those levels: Florida has a law that makes it a felony to trepass with a firearm. Texas at one time was legal to shoot a trepasser.
Other than that, shoot a gun at me and Im shooting back. Ive had IDIOTS that I knew were shooting in the air, trun tail and run when I shot INTO THE GROUND beside me, Ive had guns pulled on me several times, and in every case but one, they were in the wrong. I was standing on the edge of a public road and had people pull up waving a gun. Generally speaking, when they show you a gun, they arent serious, even though they are breaking the law. Its the ones that you dont know have a gun until you see the barrel, that get dangerous. Yeah, had that happen too. Even then, he never pointed it AT me. If he had, I was 10 yards from my truck and my lightbelt which had my gun. I would have walked backwards until I could get to mine and somebody would have died. As it turned out, I was able to de-escalate the situation and everybody went home.
In closing, yall better think about the potential outcome before going to the extremes Ive seen mentioned here.
