Are We in the Lull Period?

I am starting to wonder if Phase 3 (or what I like to call the second rut :)) was the beginning of April here in Giles and that were are now post Phase 3.

I covered 1,000 acres this past weekend without a single gobble, not even off of the roost.

Agree. Opening weekend up to around April 10th were good. I think the early warm weather may have kicked off breeding a little early this year.
 
I sat Saturday morning in a place that 2 were killed a few weeks ago and traditionally have heard gobbling whenever I was there; Nothing. I saw two jakes and a lone hen and sat for 5 hours with no responses, none. I sure believe in the phases of the season, but I have a long way to go in knowing when to hunt.
