Yes , front stab has to be 12" or less and back stab can't come further than 6" behind the grip . Sights have to be fixed pin with no limit on the number .

I have a single pin slider so that would be an issue. Is it also known and unknown yardages?

And in addition, it's 280 FPS speed limit, and targets will be 30 yard max, all known yardage. They will hand out two pieces of paper to people in your group with the yardages on them just prior to starting the round. Most of the time these are correct. Some times they are not. It always pays to carry a rangefinder and when in doubt...shoot it with that.
 
Is there a % variance on the speed? I'm getting 281 fps currently.

Until I get the $$$ to get a better stab set up and more experience bow novice could be a good fit.

bow novice would be your best bet although the single pin would make it hard . I'm pretty sure you can shoot that sight but it has to be locked down and cannot be moved .

He will have to change to a fixed pin sight, with no limit on pins, to shoot BN. A moveable pin sight of any type is not allowed per ASA rules. You could weld it where it couldn't move I guess and discuss it with the Competition Committee, but I still don't think I would do that.

There ain't a way to sandbag in that class, unless you just really intentionally shoot low scores to stay in the class. It has a $300 immediate win out limit in a year, and doesn't have any S.O.Y. points. None of the bow companies that I know of, pay contengency $ for podium finishing in the class either. There's no reason why a super good shooter should want to stay in the class; and most certainly not a reason to throw their scores and intentionally shoot bad. It doesn't take winning 1st to knock you out either. I only shot three Pro/Ams in 2013 and I won out of the class. I had one podium finish...a 3rd. The closest I came to it again was at the Classic with a 7th place. Ironically, I got the same amount of $ for 7th as I did for 3rd...more shooters were at the Classic. I won $162 for 3rd and $162 for 7th. That pushed me over the $300 mark with just two top 10 finishes. So there's no way you can shoot in the top 10 of the class and stay in there. Unless like I say, a person is intentionally walking up and shooting 5s or 8s to keep their score down low enough to keep them out of money.

I had to go look this up , I was almost positive you could keep it locked down . There is nothing in the rules saying you can have a movable sight and keep it locked down . So I would , like Andy said get a fixed pin sight . And sorry for the apparently false information .

they way the rules are written I don't think so . But maybe you can call the ASA office for clarification .
