hahaah thats good stuff! well i can assure you my gun is 2 years old and it has 8 on it so far....my 870 is 10 years old and it has 23 on it so far. I have not put one on my 1100 but when i do it will have >25 on it. But hey everyone has opinions.
besides why do so many people go straight to the AMOUNT a person has killed? why is the number so important? does a higher amount equal a better hunter. I mean geez anyone can kill a turkey if they sit long enough. I am no pro by any means and have worked HARD for some of those birds. i have crawled, ran, fell, rolled...i have pretty much swam and climbed for a kill. I know plenty of guys that I would classify as world class turkey hunters that just choose to not shot that often, they prefer to let others shoot. I just dont get the #'s game that some always seem to go to. Heck i have much more respect for a guy killing birds in areas that are not "covered" up with them, over a guy hunting a big track all to himself that has birds everywhere. Public land hunters that are successful also get mad respect from me...that there is tough sledding!!

Agreed, generally speaking when folks are more concerned about their gear or what they look like it is to compensate for something else.

and at the same time people who tend to brag or be more worried about the number they have killed are compensating for something else. It works both ways.
IMO a good hunter is someone who has the passion and willingness to learn. Have the ethics and woodsmen-ship it takes to be successful. Is always in the search to be better and learn more and is willing to take a humble approach to the game. Is aware enough to learn from experience and has no problems asking questions or admitting they dont know everything and never will. People fitting that bill are at the top of the list in my book. Everyone has to start at zero and some are not blessed enough to have started as kids or have the places to go and speed up the experience process.
