Vols pick up a good win(still in the winners bracket play at 6pm today). 9 sec teams left in regionals(some in the losers bracket now) only Vandy and Bama going home so far.
Southern Miss and Indiana about to play on ESPN+. I'm going to watch to since the winner will be Tennessee's opponent this afternoon.

Bigger schools can pull in the talent easier and especially with their facilities. Baseball is a funny game and on any given day of the week. A "lesser" team can beat the brakes off of a bigger more developed team.
Money and recruiting are prob the top two

Lots of consistently good smaller schools in baseball. Fun, fun sport.
Wish Beam could have gave us a few more innings last night, but we mainly used our "second string" run of relievers until combs came in late. I think Zander & Snead will get us home today.

Question…if the Vols are the #1 overall seed in the whole thing why were they the visiting team against Indiana and again now against Southern Miss? That makes no sense!
Southern Miss had already been the away team twice in their games. Tennessee had only been away once. This game makes it 2 times each being the away team. If there was to be a game tomorrow, Tennessee would be the home team because both teams had been the away team the same number of times, but Tennessee would get to be home because they are the higher seed.
Yeah I just saw this in a an article.
The rules stipulate that the team that has been the home team the least amount of games is the home team.
Tennessee and Southern Miss have each been the home team once, which kicked the decision to the first tiebreaker. The tiebreaker is whichever team has been the away team the most. That made USM the home team because it was the away team against Northern Kentucky on Saturday and Indiana on Sunday. UT was the away team against Indiana on Saturday in its 12-6 win to advance to the regional final.

Cal stark was on fire tonight. I saw a stat where the 1-3 hitters were 1-14 and the vols still dominated. Tears and drieling don't get near the credit they deserve and they get a lot.
