Bearded Hens....

This is ridiculous. Hens with beards aren't that rare, I see two or three every season. Plus, if you were to shoot a hen with a beard it wouldn't be the fun way, because I doubt she would come in gobbling, strutting, and drumming.

I Think it's a stupid law to allow hens to be shot period, fall or spring, beard or no beard.

I like the fall turkey hunting, it can be fun if you do it the right way, and split up a group of gobblers and call them back up an hour or two later. Still just as challenging as calling up a spring gobbling bird. But the hen murdering has got to be outlawed.

The hen rule sounds like one implemented for the uneducated hunters to make it easier for them. They aren't capable of distinguishing the difference in a hen or a gobbler, so anything with a beard is made legal.

And no I'm not saying those who shoot bearded hens are uneducated hunters

Got my limit in Hardeman co. Last two falls but none with beards. I do my fall hunting in counties other than my spring hunts. :stir:

I only shoot longbeards. Usually scare away the jakes. I have no desire to kill a bearded hen. Have passed on a few. The kids i take can kill whatever is legal. And have no fuss with one taking whatever is legal. With all this fuss on turkeys, i sure hope the crappie bite tommorow .

you know I was going to say why, but I'm not going to argue with a brick wall any more

If you have some facts to post please post them up.

Have you ever been to areas where it is normal to see 50 hens and 20 gobblers in one flock and know there are that many more on the neighboring property? Do you really think you are smarter than the guys helping TWRA set regulations? Turkey hunting is micro-managed for a reason.

So what? you still haven't told me what it hurts and why they need to be thinned out. Neither has catman btw. Because there is no biological reason. Blood thirsty hen killers have no facts on this one.

No, but I think the real turkey biologists are smarter.

Micro managed??? Are you insane? You just showed your intelligence level with that post. The state sets the limit at 4 gobblers whether you are in Maury County or a county with 2 turkeys in the whole county and you call that micro managing??? Wow. After your pro obama/anti private business spiel I didn't think anything you said could shock me! I was wrong! :bash:

You do realize the fall turkey season is different for each county, right? That is called micro-managing. Who are the real turkey biologists? BTW, you disappeared from the business discussion when you realized you didn't know anything about it. Don't blame that on me.

You wanted to raise taxes on businesses because you think they won't get passed on to the consumer! And I know nothing? I disappeared because using logic with liberals is useless.

Now, answer my question. Why do we need to thin those turkeys out? You keep asking questions but won't answer mine.

I'm not getting into the political discussion on the turkey forum. Go back to that thread and you will see documented proof of your cluelessness about the subject. Start thinking for yourself, if possible, and quit believing everything Phil Valentine says.

Because there are too many of them. They eat up food sources for other wildlife and are destructive to natural habitat. Are you going to rescind your statement about Tn micro-managing turkeys? Seems that was another subject in which you were clueless. Know what you are talking about before being an attack-dog, especially when you are doing it on someone else's behalf.

If I were a liberal I would stay out of political discussions on any forum. You should think about that.

How many is too many? How are they destructive to natural habitat? What animals are starving because turkeys are eating up all their food? No, a statewide 4 bird limit in such a diverse state is anything but micro managing. You hen killers will believe any nonsense to defend your blood lust.

Are you going to keep playing dumb and disregard that a fall turkey season exists in some areas of the state? BTW, have never killed a hen. Just more proof you talk without having any information. And since you pretend to be such an expert, I would think you would have answers to your first 3 questions. Give up dude!

We should just make an argument forum. If you have a disagreement with somebody's opinion then you could just settle it their.
It would also make it easier to follow the arguments better. [emoji1][emoji1]

Hunt just about everything

I plan on belly crawling to a roosted bearded hen. Then use a fan to block her view of me when I set up my ground blind and flock of motorized decoys. I may use a call I bought at Walmart to settle her down before I shoot her off the roost. I will then carry her past three groups of hunters on public ground while hitting a crow call to see where the gobblers are for tomorrows hunt on public land. When I get to my four-wheeler, I will ride the long way back to the truck. Then post the gory head picture using Tapatalk. I will stay in my camo all day while I drive my Hunting stickered up truck around showing the bird to my friends and filling up my Yeti with ice....My Costas will make me look cool.....

I think I hit all the bases.
