benny skiles is a punk

They probably have cheap prices.....not sayiny its always the case but more times than not its the " lowballers" that do stuff like this, at least the ones i hear about.

He's had a 25" Smallmouth of mine for 12 years. I gave up after about 5 years. I hadn't paid him ether though. I actually thought he went out of business.

benny also made a buddy wait then tried to sell his mount when my buddy told him he would be a few months to get it.

RAFI, I might disagree with you on other stuff, but I 100% agree with you on this. I think the guy is a crook, and does crappy work as well.

He has gotten wrapped up with those scam artists at CornBelt whitetails, and has followed suit.

Connie Calloway does all of my deer, and she does a really good job. Her turkeys are starting to really look good as well, and I promised to bring her one this year.

Sorry for your bad luck, and sorry to any that I offended with my harsh words, but I can't stand folks who take advantage of other sportsmen just to make a buck.
Connie is a sweetheart, too. :)

We've had three similar problems, so we are either extremely unlucky or its not that uncommon a happening amongst taxidermists(all of you honest craftsman don't get your undies in a knot!). These instances occured in Shelby county and fortunately, as far as I know, these taxidermists are long gone. Many years ago,I took a boar to Robert Moore in Germantown. Last I ever saw of the boar or Mr.Moore who gravitated to parts unknown. The other was a buddy of mine who took a nice 8 pointer to the shop in Buck and Bass in Memphis(now out of business). I believe the shop was Woods and Waters. My friend kept getting the "its almost ready story","next week",etc. Next week never came. The business and my friend's buck disappeared. The third similar experience involved a set of antelope horns belonging to another friend who took them to a shop in Millington. The guy did good work, but decided one day to close his shop and seek other employment. Horns and man disappeared.

Apparently RAFI's experiences and our's are much more common than you would think. Jeff Foxworthy does a bit where he is calling the taxidermist trying to get his mount and gets more and more frustrated with the delays. Probably its so funny because so many of us can relate!

Most taxidermist that are good and take deer, elk, and turkeystake more than a year if they are good.....I have had several deer mounted by mr. Skiles and he does wonderful work.....he has three turkeys of mine now and told me it would be awhile before I had them....I am fine with that I have seen his work..he is in his early 70sthis and does all his work himself...I believeif you are that upset about call him and take your bird somewhere else...I would if I couldn't wait
.
This is just my opinion of course....

5 years is way out of line. If I had put any money down I would be getting it back or he would be buying hisself a set of teeth.
