Good grief, Winchester! I bet that poor buck walked into trees for days after getting camera flashed like that. What did you have a q-beam mounted to that camera?
Got these on camera last year. I only get to kill one buck on the property and did that on the first day I hunted. I didn't get them on camera this year and haven't seen them. I have passed 14 different bucks, and some good ones at that, in hopes that I would see them. No luck! I saw the 8 point with the split G2 twice before season started last year and he was at least 6 years old and weighed well over 200 pounds. None of the neighbors killed him and nobody has seen him this year. I know where he beds and have seen rubs and scrapes that indicate that he is there, but can't get a pic of him.
I'm just amazed at the quality of some of these bucks. Sure, they're aren't 200-inch IL bucks, but they are darn whoppers anyone would be proud to kill.
Awesome bucks. Before the trail camera era you couldn't convince many hunters that there were bucks like this in the state. Thankfully the evidence has made most hunters more selective.
