Biggest buck on cam.

Awesome bucks. Before the trail camera era you couldn't convince many hunters that there were bucks like this in the state. Thankfully the evidence has made most hunters more selective.

I agree. Not only do trail-cameras show what is really out there, hunter selectivity is creating more of these caliber bucks. It has become a self-perpetuating system. Using trail-cameras, hunters see good bucks really are out there, so they become more selective, which in turn "creates" more of these bucks.

JCDEERMAN,

Question for you. In that 4th picture, just over the buck's shoulder, is that a tree stand in that tree?

lol

I used to beat myself up over things like that too, but believe it or not, the buck may not have come through if you had been in the stand.

What if he was bedded 100 yards from the stand and you bumped him going in? You wouldn't have seen him.

What if the wind swirled and one of the does picked up your scent, and took him with her....You wouldn't have seen him.

I'm not saying you wouldn't have, but there's also a chance you getting there or being there would have re-routed them.

Hopefully that makes you feel better.

Idiot. :D

:D I think you already know the answer to that one

I sat there Saturday morning and every sound I heard, I thought I was going to fall out of the treestand. My heart would start pumping so fast lol. My tree looked like a mini earthquake was going off. I had the SAME 2 does and button buck that THAT buck was following, walk right in front of that exact camera and I had my gun up and aiming down that logging road where they came from for over an hour  .

Knowing fully well that either of the does werent still in heat, I still had that fire I wanted to put out with him :D

Funny part is, that camera was still there when those does walked by and from looking at the pics, you can see how fast I turn around in my tree stand to get my gun up :D :D :D :D

:D BowGuy, I scrolled half way down the pic and saw the beer, and thought, "There we go! Thats exactly how we do things at our deer hanging spot, Cool!"

.....BUT then I saw the pink shoes.....I dont do all that :D :D :D

Nice buck by the way :D

The oldest buck I have, I think he was either 7 or 8 in this picture. We never saw him after he turned 4.5.

The biggest 8. I harvested him coming to a Redoak in the snow in the last week of the season.

The biggest 9 or 10, which ever one you want to call him. harvested by both my father and I by circling around him in a muzzleloader season after being wounded by dad.

Biggest 7pt. I shot him during archery and it took us 3 days to find him. I think he lived for 3 days after the shot and we found him the morning he died. I was sick about it.

Biggest 10 ever. I shot him archery coming in to early dropping redoaks; that was a strange season.

Me and JCDEERMAN found this deer on a scouting trip and I gained permission to hunt him and then lost it all before the season due to tresspassers. The landowner said he just didn't want anyone at all on his land anymore. Made me sick! This deer still had a bunch of growing to do.

I thought this deer was totally unkillable until I got this picture of him, and harvested him a couple of weeks later.

That's it those are the biggest ones I've ever got on camera.

I think he needs to give up his man card or the shoes, one or the other. LOL

This is a very nice 2 year old that I got on camera last year. I saw him several times a week this fall before season started. He was a huge main frame 6 on one side and only had a short main beam, a brow tine a short G2 on the other. He was limping badly and very thin. My best guess is that he was shot late in the season last year or hit by a car. Needless to say, it made me very sad and sick to my stomach. I haven't seen him since season started. I assume the neighbors shot him.

The shoes came out of a night with a few cold ones. One of my buddies...maybe same one as in this pic told me I wouldn't. That's all ittook. Wore them all hunting season.

When the buck was limping, was it one of his front legs? Also, was the non-dominant antler side on the same side of the injured leg?

This camera was about 175 yards behind my house. I normally don't run cameras in my "hunting" spots and bought this one to put out at the house for fun. I was amazed as this is in a fairly low deer density location. I killed the deer in the first picture the last day of the 09-10 season.
