Bob Stoops says Oklahoma not intimidated by ‘big stage’

Stoops is getting them ready!

@SoonerScoop
Standing outside of OU practice right now. It sounds like they are playing Rocky Top between scenes from horror movies. Awful sounds.

Stoops not the only one talking''

I don't know why people blow gas up their azz all the time," Oklahoma linebacker Eric Striker said Tuesday, inventing the phrase "blow gas up their azz." The Sooners travel to Knoxville on Saturday to play No. 23 Tennessee.

"I look forward to it," Striker continued. "Because I like to prove people wrong. I love that. You say this about your opponent. They got this, they got that. But what you don't understand is you've gotta get it done between the lines. That's all that matters."

Oklahoma beat Tennessee 34-10 in Norman last year and upset Alabama 45-31 in the Sugar Bowl at the end of the 2013 season. That victory over the Crimson Tide was the basis for Oklahoma's overinflated expectations entering 2014, just as Clemson's jewel-running of the Sooners in the Russell Athletic Bowl has everyone selling them short entering 2015. :stir:

"I hope SEC players don't let it go their heads, because this is how you get beat," the All-America linebacker added, perhaps recalling one of the five times OU got beat last year. "I look forward to it. Gas 'em up. Bring 'em back down to earth."

Oklahoma and Tennessee kick off at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
