Let's see everyone's bow setup for turkey hunting. And what broadheads everyone shoot for headshot turkeys

I don't bow hunt them. I'm too worried about making a good OR bad shot on one and him still running or sailing off to feed the coyotes and wildcats. I have mortally wounded one with a shotgun never to be found and it still bothers me. I love them too much.

Would still like to try one day, no blind or decoys of course.

Still interested on what others use for head shots or body shots.

Everyone dont chime in at once lol

You posted a thread wanting to see everyone's setup but didn't show your on... :rotf:

I tried it once about 20 years ago. Never cussed so much my entire life. Drew back 4 different times that season, got busted every time. Haven't had even a remote desire to pick the bow back up in the spring.

OFC, this was running and gunning, using natural terrain and vegetation, the way I like to hunt. When they come in looking for a hen, it's awfully darn hard to reach full draw even when they are in strut and turned away. I refuse to sit in a blind and hunt them like deer. Just isn't for me.

Mine is a super black eagle 2.

Like mega, I tried it with just natural cover and terrain and failed miserably. It was a calamity of errors, misses, spooked birds etc, I hung that up.

Anyone who kills turkeys with a bow with no blind or decoys gets a ton of respect from me. That's as hard as it gets

Maybe he has not bought one yet and is looking for ideas or opinions....

Could be... Probably would have mentioned that.

Every year I tell myself that after I kill my first bird that I am going to pick up my bow. It hasn't happened yet. If I ever get to the point that busting one with my shotgun doesn't make my heart go pitter-patter, I'll give it a try. Until then, I'll not deal with the bow frustration.

And, all the respect in the world for the folks that chase the birds and kill them with a bow without the blind/decoy scenario! You are better hunters than me!

I have a coworker who has done it more than once. His ideal setup involved kneeling with a large tree on his left side (which was also the way the bird would be approaching), come to draw, and shoot as the bird cleared the tree.
