Based on all the stories of people having their private land invaded and cams and stands stolen, I actually believe they are safer on public land. I am thinking the low down dirty thieves know there is loot to be had on private hunting land. They probably assume that looking for stuff to steal on public land is a waste of their time.

Interesting thought. I havent had anything stolen yet (knock on wood). I got a lock on and a camera on public land right now. The camera has my TWRA number engraved on the front. The lock on also has my TWRA number and is cable locked to the tree, however the climbing sticks are not locked.

Absolutely the case on my place I'm convinced Vermin. They know I hunt and have treestands and cams out, so they do what their low knowledge, knuckle-dragging, lack of proper raising, self does, and steal from others. If only they would put that energy into finding a job...

Idk, my leased land is surrounded by public WMA land and thus far I have had no problems (knock on wood). Maybe people just think that it is public and don't go looking or maybe people don't want to get back there, it isn't easily accessible. I hope we don't have any problems because that would really tick me off.
