The team basically quit in the 2nd half.

What?!
I thought they had that cured after last week, or was that 2019. No, maybe 2018, 2017, 2016...
Heck, they've had that forever it seems.
I swear that team needs a staff of sports psychologists to figure out WTH happens in that locker room at half time.

I'm going to say it. We can blame all the players that have messed up. TN has not been a very good program for several decades. They haven't been relivenent since they won the NC against FSU in 1998. They beat FSU's 3rd string QB.... :tu:

They lost to a walk on at GEORGIA!!

No one is arguing where our program stands. Or, at least I am not. Some of your timelines may be exaggerated but that's not the point.
Here is the point: after a disastrous start to last season, the ship was righted to the degree that we beat all the SEC teams we were supposed to beat. That's the level we have to get to first before we ever think about competing with the SEC Elite.
We have to crawl before we walk and what that looks like is us finishing 3rd in the East.

If we get to the point where we are clearly second tier then we work to compete against the better teams. Maybe steal a game from one of them.

It looked as though that was the case for about 8.5 games. Then the last 6 quarters we have taken steps backwards.
Frustrating but UK is not a bad football team. At least they're not the UK of old. Hopefully we can start heading in the right direction again. This is a strange year of football to say the least and you better show up every week.

Basketball season though...

The JG pik 6's just took away all the desire, Pruitt should just play Bailey this year is a wash anyhow to get him experienced

It's about time the Vol fans start talking about all the recruits for next year isn't it? That's usually how that goes. At best 4 wins and I don't think Arkansas is a guaranteed win for the Vols. I love it

Yeah man those were real killers. Negatively impacts every part of the game.
I reckon you start each week as an open competition. Whoever gives you the best stuff gets the start. Not ideal but what else do you do now?
Wonder what's up with Maurer? Not that I think he's the savior but he was pretty clearly the #2 last year. Is he hurt or got COVID issues?

Just read Clay Travis' take on it in his Starting 11 column. Think he pretty well hit the nail on the head.

UT never has recovered since firing Fulmer. Not saying that his last years weren't a little rough but Fulmer could recruit and could develope players.

Yep that was probably the turning point. Our past administrators & ADs really are responsible for the majority of this never ending debacle.

Arkansas should be 3-1 with a win over Auburn. The officials were suspended after the call at the end of the game.

We have a week to go, but UT might not even be favored to win. I do feel better about the direction of Arkansas's program more than I would if I was a UT fan.

Maurer has been hampered with a hamstring injury and quarantine if I recall correctly. There has also been some ramblings about him not working hard enough. Could be true, could just be talk, who knows
