Got a call from my brother yesterday and a Kroger near me had whole, fresh turkeys left over from Easter that were on sale for 29 cents/LB. So, you could pick up a 20lb bird for $6.
Heck, I bought (10) of them. Maybe I'm crazy but I thought I could freeze them and then one day my brother and I just get mad crazy and cut the meat off the bones and throw it in the grinder. I like ground turkey anyways and figured this would work. See any problems there?
I wonder if you just pitch all the meat in the mix together - breast, leg, thigh meat, etc or if it's better to section it out?
