Got a call from my brother yesterday and a Kroger near me had whole, fresh turkeys left over from Easter that were on sale for 29 cents/LB. So, you could pick up a 20lb bird for $6.

Heck, I bought (10) of them. Maybe I'm crazy but I thought I could freeze them and then one day my brother and I just get mad crazy and cut the meat off the bones and throw it in the grinder. I like ground turkey anyways and figured this would work. See any problems there?

I wonder if you just pitch all the meat in the mix together - breast, leg, thigh meat, etc or if it's better to section it out?

Great deal....separate or mix it, just depends on what your making. I like to make sausage so I'd give some a try.

I love italian turkey sausage as well. If I had the spices and know-how man that would be awesome. I might just have to learn that trade since I have plenty of the "raw product".
